Mary Arrastia

Mary Arrastia is a postdoctoral scholar in Prof. Kevin Wang’s lab at Stanford’s School of Medicine. Her research focuses on understanding how changes in the 3D organization of DNA contribute toward the development of diseases. Before arriving at Stanford, she obtained her PhD in Chemistry (sub-field Chemical Biology) from California Institute of Technology as a NSF Graduate Research Fellow and her BS in Chemistry from California State University, Los Angeles. In addition to her research pursuits, she engages in outreach activities with an emphasis towards mentoring and supporting underrepresented students in STEM fields. Outside of research and outreach, she enjoys traveling to new locations, eating at new restaurants as a foodie, amateur photography, and playing Pokémon Go while listening to audiobooks.
